SEKISUI again honored for its ESG management
Designation of "S&P Global Sustainability Award"
Every year, the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook delivers one of the world's most comprehensive and independent analysis on corporate sustainability. In 2021, for the eleventh consecutive year, SEKISUI CHEMICAL has been ranked in this assessment and scored at "Bronze Class" for its strong performance in environmental, social and governance management.
S&P Global is a provider of ratings and analytics offering data and insights on critical business factors including ESG. Their annual Sustainability Yearbook is filled with revealing data and stories offering transparency to shareholders, executives and anyone who wants independent insights.
This year, the Sustainability Yearbook analyzed over 7,000 companies across 40 countries and 61 industries. In order to be included, companies must be in the top 15% of their industry and achieve an ‘ESG score’ that is within 30% of the best in their sector. Only 631 companies with top scores made it into the Yearbook this year – including SEKISUI CHEMICAL as one of 22 Japanese corporations. The honor of the “Sustainability Award Bronze Class” means that SEKISUI is among the range of 5% to 10% of the industry’s top-performing companies.
For their ‘ESG Scores’ S&P Global uses an advanced scoring methodology to provide the annual evaluation of environmental, social and governance practices. SEKISUI CHEMICAL’s focus on ESG management in many different fields is based in its corporate vision and explains this year’s success yet again. SEKISUI CHEMICAL’s approach is to offer advanced products and innovations supporting the basis of life to realize a sustainable society.
